The human figure is the oldest subject in art and the one that never exhausts itself. A face holds a life. A posture holds a mood. A single gesture can say more than a page of writing.
Portrait and Figure is an international art competition dedicated to the human presence in art. The face that looks back at you. The body in movement or at rest. The self-portrait that reveals more than intended. The stranger caught in a moment they will never remember. Whether you work from life, from photographs, from memory, or from imagination, whether your figures are precise or barely suggested, we want to see how you approach the human form.
We invite you to interpret "Portrait and Figure" in any way that resonates with your practice. Any medium. Any style. Any country.

What You Receive as a Finalist
Your submission is free. If your work is selected by our international jury, a one-time finalist fee of $25 covers:
Publication and Archiving
- International Catalogue: Publication in a professionally designed exhibition catalogue available worldwide on Amazon, with an official ISBN.
- Online Showcase: Your work displayed in our international online gallery with a permanent page in our digital archive.
Professional Documentation
- Official Finalist Diploma with full international jury credentials.
- Certificate of Participation in an international juried exhibition, with a detailed jury evaluation protocol.
Recognition
- Featured Artist profile on curatone.art for the top three finalists.

How It Works
- Submit for free: Upload up to 2 artworks. No registration, no account, no entry fee. Takes under 5 minutes.
- Expert jury review: Every artwork is scored independently on a 10-point scale by international professionals. Jury members conduct blind reviews and do not see each other's scores.
- Get selected: Finalists are notified by email. A $25 finalist fee covers exhibition hosting, global catalog publication, and all documentation.
- Results & prizes: The Grand Prize winner receives $100 cash. All finalists receive their diplomas, evaluation protocols, and publication features.
Professional Jury Panel
Each artwork is reviewed by members of our international Jury Board, award-winning artists, curators, and art directors from New York, Berlin, Toronto, and beyond. Jury members include recipients of Red Dot, Graphis, A' Design, MUSE, and Leonardo da Vinci awards, as well as jurors for the Genoa Biennale and Apexart.

Enter the competition →How do I enter?
Use the entry form linked from the button on this page. Upload up to two works, each with an image, title, and medium, and add your artist details. Entry is free; only finalists pay a fee, after results.
What are the image requirements?
Submit a high-resolution image of each work (JPG or PNG, up to 4 MB, well-lit, cropped to the work). One image per entry; the file is stored privately and only published if the work becomes a finalist.
Can I submit works in more than one category?
Yes. Each work is entered in a single category and evaluated within it, but you may spread your entries across the categories the call accepts, up to the per-artist limit.
When and how are results announced?
Results are published on this page and in the permanent winners archive after the jury completes its evaluation. Every participant is notified by email; finalists receive numbered certificates and exhibition documentation.
Will my work be shown publicly before results?
No. Submitted works and author identities remain private throughout the entry and judging periods. Only finalist works are made public when results are announced.
What do finalists receive?
Finalists take part in the juried online exhibition and receive a numbered certificate with the jury’s credentials, a documented exhibition record, and a permanent entry in the public winners archive.
