Norm Ellis is a surrealist artist who combines five decades of technical expertise, from mechanical engineering to fine art - with boundless imagination. Exhibited internationally across six continents, his work draws inspiration from nature, Native American culture, and the human experiences that transcend words.
Selected as a finalist in Curatone.art's Moments of Life (2025) competition, Norm Ellis creates dreamscapes using mixed media: airbrush, ink, acrylics, and Prismacolor. His philosophy is simple but profound: to create visual communication that words alone cannot express.

- How would you introduce yourself in one phrase: who you are and what you create (genre, style, technique)?
The imaginary in my work is inspired by my observations of nature. I fell in love with Surrealism because it is limitless in dimension, allowing me the freedom to create what is in my heart as a visual communication with the world that words alone cannot express.
- What is special about your technique? Why this medium?
It is not conventional technique. I use colored pencils, ink, graphite and thinner. I get the results I am looking for at this moment. All this evolving. - If someone were searching for your work on Google, what keywords do you think they would type?
