She creates acrylic and oil paintings of floral arrangements, portraying them as a woman’s soul imagined. For her, creating has never been an intentional decision, but simply an energetic pull she cannot ignore. The chance to find herself within a piece of her own work is a feeling she will continue to chase forever. Being a creative is the only state in which she feels whole and connected to everything around her.
She makes her pieces without a preset vision of the outcome, allowing herself to flow freely. In the moment, she forgets everything as expression through her hands takes over. She starts grounded—without brushes—using only her hands to shift the background, sometimes closing her eyes to find the shape of the vase that serves as the foundation where flowers will bloom. Emotion drives her choice of colors for the flowers, completely free from the fear of relying on a reference. Drips of paint lend a sense of play and character, challenging her natural pull toward realism.
An intricate story is told through her work, interpreted through the vase (body), the flowers (mind), and the drips (spirit). She hopes all women will see one of their own complexities within these paintings, just as she has discovered her own.
