TOUCH//ESCAPE

The exhibition TOUCH//ESCAPE, now available in this digital version, was curated by Dalila Cataldi and hosted by IPN Cult on August 1 and 2, 2025, in Berlin at Stil Vor Talent, Kreuzberg.

About the Exhibition (Curatorial Note)

In a time marked by global unrest, social alienation, and a growing disconnection from both self and others, TOUCH // ESCAPE responds to these issues with urgency and tenderness.

As our lives migrate further into the digital realm, we find ourselves simultaneously more connected and more isolated. We scroll endlessly, send quick messages, share glimpses of our lives through curated posts and fleeting stories. And yet, despite these constant interactions, a lingering sense of detachment persists. In this environment of overstimulation, the need for physical intimacy, emotional resonance, and embodied presence has never felt more urgent. These artworks explore the role of touch and intimacy as acts of resistance, as gestures that reclaim slowness, softness, and vulnerability in a digital world that privileges speed, productivity, and performance.

In times of crisis and collective uncertainty, this return to self becomes not only healing, but revolutionary. These works remind us that real connection begins with self-awareness, and that true community care can only grow from that ground. In a world asking us to perform, to consume, and to keep moving, these pieces offer us a pause and a space to reflect, feel, and heal, together.

Together, these artists challenge the notion that solitude is a weakness. Instead, they offer it as fertile ground: a place to return to ourselves, so we might return to each other with truth and care.

What does it mean to disconnect with intention: not to escape reality, but to reclaim presence?

In a world saturated with content, noise, and endless demands for productivity, disconnection has become a radical act. Disconnection is not passive withdrawal, but resistance: a moment to slow down, to feel, and to reinhabit the body in stillness and softness. ESCAPE becomes a site of resistance through stillness: an invitation to pause, reorient, and slowly begin again.
