Gabriel Halim is an Indonesian artist whose work combines traditional East Asian painting influences with subjects drawn from Indonesia's natural and cultural heritage. Working primarily with ink, watercolor, and gouache, he creates panoramic compositions that explore the relationship between people, place, and tradition. His work has received recognition in several international art competitions. In 2026, he was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2nd "Fuqing in My Heart" International Art Competition and Champion at the IYCEA International Ink Rhythm Chinese Painting Competition. He also received Silver Award, Best Color Award, and Best Creative Award at the SG60 World Charity Painting Competition. His paintings have been recognized by international juried exhibitions, including awards from Teravarna Art Gallery and Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery. Recent distinctions include the Special Recognition Award for Dragon Boat Festival and the Special Merit Award for Lake Toba in Morning Mist (I). Through his work, Gabriel continues to develop a visual language that brings together Indonesian themes, traditional painting techniques, and contemporary artistic expression.
